Northern Lightening Distinguished Visitors' Day
“Welcome to all of our Cornerstone Members of the VFCC…thank you for joining us! I am thrilled that many of you were able to attend Distinguished Visitor Day during the recent Northern Lightning Exercise. There is no better showcase than Northern Lightning for the many attributes of the Volk Field training complex, to include a look over the horizon for where we are headed as a training venue for the future. As the council takes shape, our members will play a key role in building the capacity to advocate for Volk Field’s future. I look forward to speaking with all of you in the near future!”

Founders' Lift-Off Picnic
The picnic luncheon was held at Hardwood Bombing Range in Necedah, WI, and included a full afternoon of presentations and demonstrations. Colonel David May spoke about the unique capabilities afforded by the contiguous airspace over central Wisconsin, as well as the significance of and need for the Volk Field Community Council. Several other military personnel discussed their areas expertise, including fighter pilots and the members of Seal Team 8.
What followed was a real life demonstration of air-to-ground combat featuring two F-35 Bombers (???) that flew multiple passes over the targets, dispensing hundreds of bullets into the sandpits with each pass.
