Mission
The primary mission of the Volk Field Community Council (VFCC) is to support the Volk Field Air National Guard Base's (ANGB's) mission, relationships and initiatives with their personnel, local community, all level of public officials and all those impacting and influencing their base operations and economic impact.

- Develop access to aerospace industry and careers for rural students and adults
- Support aerospace networks, in initiatives and opportunities
Economic Impact
Volk Field is entirely owned by the State of Wisconsin and is leased to the Air Force for a fee of $1 for 50 years. The Air Force then licenses the facility to the Wisconsin Air National Guard. According to Volk Field, the lease expires in 2048. Volk Field consists of 2,336 acres adjacent to Interstate Highway 90/94, north of the Village of Camp Douglas.
There are no aircraft assigned to Volk Field. Therefore, as we were briefed and as we understand it, the mission of Volk Field is to provide training to National Guard units, reserve units, and active duty units that are looking for a place to train. Volk Field sits on the edge of the largest military airspace in the upper Midwest and a 7,000 acre practice bombing range – inert rounds only.
According to an analysis completed by the University of Wisconsin-Extension done under the quantitative analysis section of this report, Volk Field has a $52 million dollar annual impact on the community.
